Be Intentional In A World Where "Intention" Is Forgotten
In this world full of distraction and full of worthless content. Be the man who spends his time wisely with great content. This world has great benefits to offer if you are not distracted. This modern world whom great people shaped is pretty fast, but speed is a curse, a double-edged sword. This great modern world can transmit information (a lot) in a matter of seconds, and just how cool that you have a lot of information in your own hands in a matter of seconds?
But as you said, speed is a double-edged sword. Now, you have this burden of choice. The choice to use the speed for your rational being or to use the speed of this modern world for pleasure. I know what choice should I picked, but the pleasure is addicting. That yourself is acting purely in impulse that it shows like it conquered your being. Thus, to prevent this from happening you must always be intentional, you must always have this self-control to not be distracted or be allured in this short-term pleasure offered by this modern technology.
Most of the people is not intentional. Just look at your environment, it is like a disease, a modern-man disease. And probably the symptom is a strong thumb. You also suffered from it, you know the feeling. The feeling of being bombarded by a hundreds of video the time you wake up, and even though it felt horrible, you still do it because it is pleasureable. It is pleasureable that you have entertainment while in comfortable position in your bed. And your sole entertainment is to watch people improve theirself. Would not be more pleasureable if you also improve yourself? Where you spend your time intentionally, slowly, and peacefully? And utmost, away from the pleasureable and addicting speed of modern technology.
Slow mornings are addictive and it is much better than having the modern-man disease. The feeling is great, although not the same pleasure when scrolling using my thumb, but it felt great in a new way.
This technology of the modern world offers a double-edged sword, and it is up to you how you will use it. Whether you use it for your rational being (self-study) or for pleasure. You must be intentional and have self-control. Because if you do not have one, you never lived your sole one life.
